At last, the leader of the free world has linked JFK's assassination and UFOs - at least in curious instructions recalled by a longtime associate of the first couple.
Webb Hubbell, who spent 18 months in prison for tax evasion, writes in a recent memoir of his 1994 decision to resign from the Justice Department's No. 3 post: Of my many regrets at that moment, I remember thinking that I hadn't accomplished something the President had asked me to do when . . . [he] was first elected.
`Webb,' he had said, `if I put you over at Justice, I want you to find the answers to two questions for me.
One, Who killed JFK? And two, Are there UFOs? ' He was dead serious.
I had looked into both, but wasn't satisfied with the answers I was getting. " Who do you suppose he asked? And what were the answers?
White House officials had no comment on Mr. Hubbell's account of his conversation with the president.
