"CIA Director John Brennan covertly meets with Ukrainian interim government. Brennan and the CIA are providing covert intelligence and operational support to Kiev, in person - because of Russian capabilities to intercept covert communications. Thus, the US is actively involved in escalating the conflict. Despite the fact that the democratically elected government was overthrown by bomb throwing mobs who killed police, in a coup, the Obama administration continues to fuel the crisis. A full analysis of Putin's actions, speeches and activity has not been done in the major media to date. So far, only cries of Putin taking over Ukraine to reestablish the Soviet Union, with no objective proof, have been issued. Although we do not agree with Putin on a number issues, the Ukrainian tinder box is far to dangerous to swallow the administration's calls for actions that could lead to war, beginning with US supported lethal Ukrainian attacks on Russian nationals in and around Kiev. As a side note: It is well documented that Putin has dedicated himself to protecting the Christian culture in Russia, shield Christian churches from Jihadist attacks and resist what he sees as the moral decay of the US. Sadly, there is some truth to this. In America, Christianity is under extreme attack in every institution, most notably the Department of Defense, the US Department of State ignores wide-scale Christian persecution around the world, and the Obama administration actively supports the Muslim Brotherhood, including appointing members to National Security posts. Not popular to report, we know. But it appears to be true. The question is this: Will the US media have the courage to take the unpopular stand of looking at this issue objectively - resisting the easy path and the popular knee jerk view. The attacks on long time conservative columnist Pat Buchanan, for reporting on this aspect of Putin's actions, demonstrates that countering the approved rhetoric will draw personal attacks vs. analysis of the facts. Whatever the full truth is, we need to know it, NOW, before the US commits itself to years in Ukraine and billions of tax payer dollars, just to save face".

Pope assures Ukrainian people of his solidarity, prayers

Vatican City, Mar 18, 2014 / 12:22 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- In a March 17 meeting with the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Pope Francis expressed the Holy See’s commitment to building peace amid the country’s political crisis. Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk of Kyiv-Halyc traveled to Rome for a private encounter with Vatican officials to discuss the political unrest in the country and Crimeans’ vote to join Russia. Crimea, a southern peninsula of Ukraine, has been occupied by pro-Russian forces since Feb. 27. A majority of the population is ethnic Russian, and in a referendum held Sunday, 97 percent of voters backed splitting from Ukraine to join Russia. On Tuesday, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Crimean leaders signed a treaty to absorb the peninsula into Russia. Shortly thereafter, one Ukrainian military officer was killed and another was wounded in an attack on a base in the Crimean capital Simferopol. In a statement released by the information department of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, it was noted that Pope Francis is following the events unfolding in Ukraine “with great attention.” “The Holy Father expressed words of solidarity to the Ukrainian people for the suffering and the dangers that is now before them.” He has assured the Ukrainian people that the Holy See “will do everything possible for peace in Eastern Europe, especially to avoid any escalation of the conflict,” the statement reports. Meeting with Pope Francis yesterday morning, Archbishop Shevchuk also spoke with Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin later that afternoon, recounting the events which have taken place over the last three months. During the discussion Archbishop Shevchuk highlighted that “the mission of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church has always been to be with the people and among the people,” which is “why the priests were in Maidan Square with the people” during the deadly protests which took place from November through February. Also discussed in Archbishop Shevchuk’s meeting with the Pope was the role of the Council of Churches and religious organizations throughout Ukraine in the building of peace in the country. Recalling the persecution of the Church during the Soviet era, the archbishop relayed to the Pope that at the time “the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was able to survive only thanks to unity with the Successor of Peter.” Pope Francis assured the archbishop that “the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will never be lacking the protection of the Holy See,” and concluded the meeting by imparting his apostolic blessing to all the Ukrainian people. Protests in the capital Kyiv began in November, when the government announced it would not sign a major economic partnership agreement with the European Union, in favor of a $15 billion bailout agreement with Russia. The protests culminated in the death of more than 70 persons in February, and the flight of the country’s pro-Russia president. On Feb. 23, pro-Western Oleksander Turchynov was appointed acting president by parliament. Subsequently, pro-Russian forces effectively took control of Crimea, which had been transferred from Russia to Ukraine in 1954 under the Soviet Union. Kyiv and Western governments have refused to acknowledge as legal Crimea’s union with Russia, placing travel bans and asset freezes on some Russian government officials.

In December of last year Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow agreed to buy $15 billion worth of Ukrainian government debt and allow for a 33% gas discount in the price Ukrainians pay for Russian natural gas. This posed a very serious threat to the Catholic Church International Monetary Fund (IMF). The people of Ukraine would no longer be enslaved by interest bearing debt owed to the Pope via loans from the Catholic Church IMF. The Ukrainian people would have more money in their pockets with the Russian $15 billion debt purchase and 33% gas discount. As of January 1, 2014 Ukraine started buying Russian gas for $268 instead of $400 per 1,000 cubic meters. The Russian government agreed to buy $15 billion in Ukrainian debt by investing in Ukrainian bonds using money from Russia’s Welfare Fund. “For the purpose of supporting the Ukrainian budget the Russian government has made a decision to invest part of the National Welfare Fund, to the tune of $15 billion, in Ukrainian government securities,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said. Ukraine “is our fully-fledged strategic partner beyond any doubt,” Putin said at the meeting, where the two presidents signed 14 separate agreements on space, engineering, defense and trade. The Russian deal between Russia and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich was very good for Ukraine and its people. The financial deal was very bad for the Catholic Church IMF so the Catholic Church ordered members of its military orders in Kiev Ukraine to honor their oaths and take to the streets and shed blood for the Catholic Church. The orders to wage war against Ukraine and overthrow elected President Viktor Yanukovich came directly from antipope Francis. A day after at least 75 people were reported killed in clashes between police and protesters in Ukraine’s capital, antipoe Francis asked the College of Cardinals to send a message of support to the two Ukrainian cardinals waging war with the elected Ukrainian government. “I want to send a greeting, not just in my name, but in the name of all, to the Ukrainian cardinals — Cardinal (Marian) Jaworski, archbishop emeritus of Lviv, and Cardinal (Lubomyr) Husar, major archbishop emeritus of Kiev — who are suffering very much these days because of the many difficulties in their homeland,” the antipope told the cardinals at the beginning of a meeting to discuss the family on February 21, 2014. Within this message antipope Francis was instructing the Ukrainian cardinals to continue to wage “relentless war” against Ukraine. The message was telling the Ukrainian cardinals to use his name to entice Ukrainian Catholic bishops, priests and parishioners to take to the streets and incite violence in his name. Now that the Catholic Church has caused major destruction to the Ukrainian capital and has overthrown the elected Ukrainian government and installed an unelected pro-EU government the Catholic Church IMF is now forcing the Ukrainian people to take on a 11 billion euros ($15 billion) interest bearing debt owed to the Pope. The announcement was made this morning by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. The announcement is contingent on Ukraine signing a deal with the International Monetary Fund. Not only do the people of Ukraine have to pay off a $15 billion debt to the Pope through the Pope’s IMF the Ukrainian people will also have to pay off the debt that Russia offered to buy last December. The Catholic Church forced Ukraine into bankruptcy as a direct result of the Catholic Church deadly violence in Kiev, Ukraine. Ukrainians are now forced to pay a Catholic Church IMF debt that is rigged to never be paid as well as high energy costs. Both debilitating financial hardships have been fueled by the Catholic Church which has crippled the economy of Ukraine for decades. Additionally, the Catholic Church also plans to impose the trade sanctions that Ukraine would have received had it signed an association agreement with the EU last year. An agreement that the Ukraine government refused to sign last year. In his Kremlin defense of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, Vladimir Putin, even before he began listing the battles where Russian blood had been shed on Crimean soil, spoke of an older deeper bond.

Crimea, said Putin, “is the location of ancient Khersones, where Prince Vladimir was baptized. His spiritual feat of adopting Orthodoxy predetermined the overall basis of the culture, civilization and human values that unite the peoples of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.”

Russia is a Christian country, Putin was saying. This speech recalls last December’s address where the former KGB chief spoke of Russia as standing against a decadent West: “Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values. Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan.

This is the path to degradation.” Heard any Western leader, say, Barack Obama, talk like that lately? Indicting the “Bolsheviks” who gave away Crimea to Ukraine, Putin declared, “May God judge them.” What is going on here? With Marxism-Leninism a dead faith, Putin is saying the new ideological struggle is between a debauched West led by the United States and a traditionalist world Russia would be proud to lead. In the new war of beliefs, Putin is saying, it is Russia that is on God’s side.

The West is Gomorrah. Western leaders who compare Putin’s annexation of Crimea to Hitler’s Anschluss with Austria, who dismiss him as a “KGB thug,” who call him “the alleged thief, liar and murderer who rules Russia,” as the Wall Street Journal’s Holman Jenkins did, believe Putin’s claim to stand on higher moral ground is beyond blasphemous. But Vladimir Putin knows exactly what he is doing, and his new claim has a venerable lineage.

The ex-Communist Whittaker Chambers who exposed Alger Hiss as a Soviet spy, was, at the time of his death in 1964, writing a book on “The Third Rome.” The first Rome was the Holy City and seat of Christianity that fell to Odoacer and his barbarians in 476 A.D. The second Rome was Constantinople, Byzantium, (today’s Istanbul), which fell to the Turks in 1453. The successor city to Byzantium, the Third Rome, the last Rome to the old believers, was — Moscow. Putin is entering a claim that Moscow is the Godly City of today and command post of the counter-reformation against the new paganism. Putin is plugging into some of the modern world’s most powerful currents. Not only in his defiance of what much of the world sees as America’s arrogant drive for global hegemony. Not only in his tribal defense of lost Russians left behind when the USSR disintegrated. He is also tapping into the worldwide revulsion of and resistance to the sewage of a hedonistic secular and social revolution coming out of the West. In the culture war for the future of mankind, Putin is planting Russia’s flag firmly on the side of traditional Christianity. His recent speeches carry echoes of John Paul II whose Evangelium Vitae in 1995 excoriated the West for its embrace of a “culture of death.” What did Pope John Paul mean by moral crimes?

The West’s capitulation to a sexual revolution of easy divorce, rampant promiscuity, pornography, homosexuality, feminism, abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, assisted suicide — the displacement of Christian values by Hollywood values. Washington Post columnist Anne Applebaum writes that she was stunned when in Tbilisi to hear a Georgian lawyer declare of the former pro-Western regime of Mikhail Saakashvili, “They were LGBT.” “It was an eye-opening moment,” wrote Applebaum. Fear and loathing of the same-sex-marriage pandemic has gone global. In Paris, a million-man Moral Majority marched in angry protest. Author Masha Gessen, who has written a book on Putin, says of his last two years, “Russia is remaking itself as the leader of the anti-Western world.” But the war to be waged with the West is not with rockets. It is a cultural, social, moral war where Russia’s role, in Putin’s words, is to “prevent movement backward and downward, into chaotic darkness and a return to a primitive state.” Would that be the “chaotic darkness” and “primitive state” of mankind, before the Light came into the world? This writer was startled to read in the Jan-Feb. newsletter from the social conservative World Council of Families in Rockford, Ill., that, of the “ten best trends” in the world in 2013, number one was “Russia Emerges as Pro-Family Leader.” In 2013, the Kremlin imposed a ban on homosexual propaganda, a ban on abortion advertising, a ban on abortions after 12 weeks and a ban on sacrilegious insults to religious believers. “While the other super-powers march to a pagan world-view,” writes WCF’s Allan Carlson, “Russia is defending Judeo-Christian values. During the Soviet era, Western communists flocked to Moscow.This year, World Congress of Families VII will be held in Moscow, Sept. 10-12.”

The Catholic Church and the Pope Obama is not unmindful of the power and influence of Rome in the United States and other parts of the world.

He has to deal with the powerful Holy See. So he took steps to address their concerns as best he could, knowing that he was not in harmony with Rome on key social issues. During the recent presidential campaign a web blog was published on the website of the Jesuit magazine America. It listed the names of Obama’s unofficial Roman Catholic advisory team which is called a “Kitchen Cabinet.” The purpose of this particular advisory team would have been to help Obama navigate the special problems that arise because the Catholic Church is so very influential in American politics. Obviously many Roman Catholics are clearly more liberal than their church when it comes to abortion, gay marriage and other social issues. Obama needed advice, but more importantly he needed a solid group of respected Catholics to draw Catholic votes. It should be noted that he did not form a Baptist advisory committee or even and Evangelical advisory committee. They also wield a lot of power in U.S. politics, but not like Catholics. This fact tells us that Rome’s influence and power is obviously far more than the Baptists and Evangelicals, perhaps combined. The Catholic “Kitchen Cabinet” is a veritable who’s who list of respected American Catholics and Jesuits, or rather Jesuit trained people. They include Roman Catholic congressmen and women, educators at Jesuit universities, governors, senators, representatives and others who were chosen partly because of their close connections to Rome.

Islamists linked to the Muslim Brotherhood are seeking to influence the U.S. conservative movement as part of non-violent jihad against the United States, according to a group of retired national security leaders.

The 10 former officials—including a retired attorney general, former CIA director, a retired general and an admiral, and a former counterterrorism prosecutor—challenged an assessment made several years ago of the political outreach activities by anti-tax activist Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan, a former George W. Bush administration official, and their purported links to Islamist subversive groups.

The 2011 assessment in question was conducted for the American Conservative Union (ACU) by Cleta Mitchell, a lawyer and ACU board member who concluded there was no factual basis for charges linking the two activists to Islamists.

In a cover letter accompanying a 45-page dossier made public Tuesday, the former officials supported charges made by Frank Gaffney, a former Reagan administration defense official, who has said both activists are tied to and have engaged in activities “in support of Islamists inside the United States, including the Muslim Brotherhood, its operatives, front groups, and agendas.”

The letter and “statement of facts” were produced in response to Mitchell’s review for the ACU that stated she found “no factual basis” to Gaffney’s charges. The rebuttal letter and dossier also was sent to ACU Chairman Alberto R. Cardenas.

The dossier, titled “The Islamists’—and their Enablers’—Assault on the Right: The case against Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan,” presents a detailed rebuttal of the Mitchell memorandum.

“The statement of facts demonstrates that Suhail Khan and Grover Norquist have extensive ties to ‘various Muslim extremist organizations,’ individuals associated with them and their activities,” the report said.

“These include: organizations established in federal court as prominent Muslim Brotherhood front organizations with ties to the designated terrorist organization, Hamas; two convicted terrorists, Abdurahman Alamoudi and Sami al-Arian; and efforts to deny prosecutors an important counterterrorism tool vilified by such groups and individuals as ‘secret evidence,’” the report said.

The former officials stated in the cover letter that Mitchell should address the compiled statement of facts that they asserted support Gaffney’s charges and contradict her 2011 assessment.

Additionally, the former officials said the Mitchell memorandum prompted the ACU board to endorse the conduct of two of its members that “is at odds with the stated mission of the American Conservative Union—namely, ‘harnessing the collective strength of conservative organizations fighting for Americans who are concerned with liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values, and strong national defense.’”

Mitchell said in an email she had no plan to read the report and thus would have no comment.

A spokeswoman for Norquist had no immediate comment, and a spokesman did not return an email seeking comment. Khan could not be reached for comment and did not return emails seeking comment.

The dossier concludes that Muslim Brotherhood front groups are engaged in “civilization jihad” aimed at destroying Western civilization from within. It also says “Muslim Brotherhood front groups and operatives have targeted, among others, the Republican Party and conservative movement.”

The cover letter was signed by former Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey; former CIA Director R. James Woolsey; former Rep. Allen B. West; retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, a former undersecretary of defense for intelligence; former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy; Former FBI Agent John Guandolo; retired Adm. James A. Lyons, former commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet; former Pentagon Inspector General Joseph E. Schmitz; Amb. Henry F. Cooper, former director of the Pentagon’s Strategic Defense Initiative Organization; and former CIA officer Clare Lopez.

To borrow from the musical group The Kinks, you know “it’s a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world” when Russian president Vladimir Putin becomes the leading voice for stopping the violent persecutions against Christians while the president of the United States stands silent.

Speaking at a meeting with Orthodox Christian leaders in Moscow last week, according to Life Site News, Putin said he noted “with alarm” that “in many of the world’s regions… inter-confessional tensions are mounting, and the rights of religious minorities are infringed, including Christians and Orthodox Christians.”

In emphasizing the Middle East and North Africa, Putin said:

“This pressing problem should be a subject of close attention for the entire international community. It is especially important today to make efforts to prevent intercultural and interreligious conflicts, which are fraught with the most serious upheavals.”

Christians in Syria have suffered greatly amid a deadly civil war there, as have Coptic Christians in Egypt while under Muslim Brotherhood rule. There has also been a rapid decline of Iraq’s Christian population since 2003. All of which has largely been ignored by the Obama administration.

Nina Shea, Director of the Center for Religious Freedom and a Hudson Institute Fellow, said during an appearance at CPAC in March that “religious persecution is the gravest human rights crisis of our day,” as reported by Breitbart News.

Shea noted then that the Obama administration has been “silent” on the issue of global Christian persecution, and she had little hope of improvement. ”I have every expectation this problem will become worse between now and the end of the Obama administration,” she said.

Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., a co-chairman of the House of Representatives’ Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, has been critical of the U.S. government’s “anemic and at times outright baffling” response to the treatment of Christians in the Mideast, according to the National Catholic Register.

America has always been a friend to the oppressed, the persecuted, the forgotten. But, sadly, today, that allegiance is in question, as religious freedom and human-rights abuses around the globe increasingly go unaddressed and unanswered,” Wolf said last month.

Yes, we may have passed through the looking glass if Christians must look to Russia for protection. A mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, indeed.

John F. Kennedy gave this speech to the American Newspaper Publishers Association on 27th April 1961, two and a half years before his assassination (November 22, 1963). He details his thoughts on secret societies and what seems to be a call to action. Some believe that he is referring to secret societies being established within the US government and to others it is a cryptic message about an overseas communist threat.
