False Alarm in Los Angeles
New York, Wednesday, - "Although re-
ports are conflicting and every effort is being
made to ascertain the facts, it is clear that,
no bombs were dropped and no planes shot
down, " says an official announcement issued
in San Francisco by the Western Command,
referring to the firing of anti-aircraft guns
on the Pacific coast early this morning.
Col. Knox, Secretary of the Navy, said that
the only reports he had received about the
"enemy aircraft" in the Los Angeles area
were that it was just a false alarm. -Reuter.
